car show bust
On march 28 we were supposed to play a car show at 4:00 but we ended up starting at 5:00 no problem except that the cars had already gotten their prizes and were on their way out of the park and the beer garden had closd up and was also heading out. I'd like to say that the "cat" is a good band but without some good help we cant expand our listeners or whatever so apart from our good friends and family who stuck around and a couple of the Rams and Raiders booster clubs members we pretty much played to an empty park. This was pretty disheartening and the dj who was ther didnt help the matters by parking his truck right in the middle of our dance floor. We played a really tight set but hey when something is set up against you thats all you anreally do "just push forward and hope for the best while taking the high road. Well everyone who was there is always going to get so much love from us and will forever be a part of the firecat family. So in closing whoever that dj is he will get his karmic retribution in due time so until next time FireCat abides. Courage.

Good time
On march 21 2009 we played a pretty good party and we learned what tequila can do to an audience. Jubilant dancing, loud singing and a constant demand for encores. Our soundman seems to be getting the hang of the P.A. system which is a big plus for us.The rain began to fall at the end of the set which is another first for us. It seems as if this last month every where we play we find something new and find good experiences to use as stories for us to entertain people with afterward. The new songs are going over very well with everyone so hopefully our good luck streak will continue. For our next gig we have decided to split the set list into three different categories 90's tunes, oldies, and stuff that has more of a "pop" feel. As the big day approaches my nerves are only going to intensify but that is one of the funs of playing in public. So until tomorrow Courage.

catch up
on March 14 2009 we played for a party of Vietnam and World War II vets at a VFW hall. I expected the worst but they turned out to be the nicest people. They really liked to dance and the bartender at the bar gave the bassist and me a free beer. It was great and made us feel like real life musicians. This was a learning experience for us because even though we generally have a negative opinion about the war we realized that everyone wants to be entertained regardless of their political views. On the 21st of march (2009) we will be playing at a party with other bands which will hopefully be another learning experience. Until the next time this is P.B. signing off. Courage haha

rambling
tomorrow we play at a friends birthday party. I'm expecting a lukewarm reception from the crowd seeing how they are bound to be too drunk to pay any real attention. People ask for heavier songs but i have come to the realization that we are a pop band who just happens to like to raise a little hell. Our music isnt as other bands in fresno but if we canget into a groove than who needs the real havy stuff. I have realized that we are never gonna be heavier than High On fire or mastodon so we can try to dethrone the cars and the police in terms of catchiness instead so i think this weekend we shall focus our attentions on that.

Suggestions
In the couple of parties this band has played we've recieved many suggestions and encountered some situations some good some bad i will try to remember a couple of these now
1. More Cowbell!!! this is one that always comes up. I know you're supposed to give the people what they want but then the band ends up getting pissed off because they think im just trying to steal attention from the rest of them and ruin the songs on purpose. Also as funny as it is to quote christopher walken people just say it for the novelty because i know a whole song of cowbell can become annoying, so excuse me if i dont hit the cowbell enough it's for your own good.
2. COMING UP TO THE BAND EMPTY HANDED. Thats a joke, kinda, A girl kept coming up to take pictures with us at a party and thats cool but we kept asking for a fresh beer and the beer never arrived. She was really drunk after taking shots of tequila continously so she gets a pass but Fyi if you want to invade the stage bring booze.
3.Always INtroduce the band to single ladies. Only the singer is married so the rest of the band is always looking to pass some FIRECAT hospitality. nuff said.
4. Song requests. We are always looking for songs that would be cool to cover so don't be afraid to shoot some ideas at us just dont be dicks about it.
Well thats it for the first intstallment but there will be more of these so until next time.

Welcome
Ladies and gentlemen My name is Pabel Lopez drummer for the band Firecat I intend to use this as promotion for the band and our beliefs, so most of the things we say here will be looking out for number 1( THE Band) and will be in our best interests. Well let me introduce the band First off, On Vocals Chava Montane, on Bass Dave Gutierrez, and on Guitar our newest and youngest addition Mike "The Kid" Uribe.
we play a wide array of covers but have started writing our own originals. Weve been together for about 2 months if anyone would like to contact the band for a party in the Fresno Ca area e mail me and we can work something out.Our influences include The Rolling STones, The Who, Oasis, Jimi Hendrix and many others.
We have been playing a couple of parties but would like to get into playing in bars or anywhere else that will have us.
